Self-managed documentation covers Firebolt components that you install and operate in your own infrastructure. Use this section when you are responsible for deploying, configuring, scaling, monitoring, or troubleshooting Firebolt services outside the fully managed Firebolt control plane. The self-managed components are open source: The Firebolt Operator and the Helm chart run Firebolt on Kubernetes. If you do not want Kubernetes or Docker, you can build the engine and metadata service from source and run the binaries directly on one or more machines: see Standalone binaries.
